Terms of Service

Agreement

These terms govern your use of Santi Tutor, operated by Santi Open University Ltd.. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you are using Santi Tutor through a school, your institution's agreement with us also applies and takes precedence where the two conflict.

If you are under 18, you may only use the service with the consent of a parent, guardian or your institution.

Your account

• Give accurate registration details and keep them current.
• Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.
• One account per person. Sharing credentials is not permitted; Family plans exist for households.
• Tell us promptly at hello@santitutor.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

Plans, tokens and trials

All plans are paid subscriptions. Each plan includes a monthly token allowance; tokens are the unit in which tutoring is metered, and the current conversion rate between tokens and tutoring time is published on the Pricing page.

Every plan begins with a free trial of the length stated at sign-up, including a limited number of trial tokens. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription continues as a paid plan.

We may change the token conversion rate or plan contents with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. If a change disadvantages you, you may cancel before it takes effect and receive a pro-rated refund of the unused period.

• Tokens have no cash value and cannot be transferred or sold.
• Monthly plan tokens reset each billing cycle; yearly plans roll unused tokens forward for up to three months.
• Top-ups are consumed only after your plan allowance is exhausted.

Billing and renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. We charge the payment method on file on the renewal date. Prices are exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

If a payment fails we will retry and email you. Access may be suspended if payment remains outstanding, and your library stays intact during suspension.

Cancellation and refunds

• You may cancel at any time from Account → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period and you keep access until then.
• New subscribers may request a full refund within 14 days of their first paid charge, provided fewer than 20% of that period's tokens have been used.
• Top-ups are non-refundable once any part has been used.
• We do not refund partially used periods outside the 14-day window, except where required by law.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit work produced by the service as your own where that breaches your school's or examiner's rules.
• Use the service during a timed examination or assessment where outside help is prohibited.
• Attempt to extract prompts, model weights, or reverse-engineer the service.
• Scrape, resell, sublicense or provide the service to third parties without our written agreement.
• Upload unlawful content, other people's personal data without a basis, or material you have no right to share.
• Interfere with the service, circumvent rate or token limits, or probe our systems without authorisation.
• Use the service to harass, defraud or harm anyone.

Academic integrity

Santi Tutor is built to teach, not to complete assessed work on your behalf. It defaults to walking you through a method rather than handing over a finished answer, and institutions can enable a mode that refuses questions matching active assignments.

You are responsible for complying with your school's academic-integrity rules. We may cooperate with an institution investigating misuse of an account it administers.

Your content

You keep ownership of everything you submit and of the notes and boards produced in your lessons. You grant us a licence to host, process and display that content solely to operate the service and to provide it back to you.

You may export or delete your content at any time. We do not claim rights to use your lesson content for marketing without your explicit permission.

Our content

The service, its software, board rendering, curriculum materials, and the Santi name and logo are owned by us or our licensors. You get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them for your own learning, or your institution's learning, for the term of your subscription.

Accuracy and limits of the service

Santi Tutor is an AI tutor. It can be wrong. Worked mathematical solutions pass through automated verification before reaching the board, but no automated system is perfect, and explanations in every subject should be treated as a study aid rather than an authority.

The service does not provide medical, legal, financial or other professional advice, and must not be relied on for any such purpose.

Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service on self-serve plans. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where practical. Institution contracts may include a specific uptime SLA.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, creates risk for other users, or is used unlawfully. Where the breach is capable of remedy we will normally warn you first. You may terminate at any time by cancelling and deleting your account.

Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that use of the service will improve any particular academic outcome or examination result.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or fifty United States dollars. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, including lost grades, lost opportunities or lost data where you had the ability to export it.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be emailed to account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.
